SSCC Theatre proudly presents Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, playing in The Edward K. Daniels Auditorium at Southern State Community College, Hillsboro, Ohio, November 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and on November 17 at 3:30 p.m. This season marks Rainee Angles’ tenth season as SSCC Theatre director.

This timeless drama of life in the mythical village of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, has become an American classic with universal appeal. Thornton Wilder’s most frequently performed play, Our Town appeared on Broadway in 1938 to wide acclaim, and won the Pulitzer Prize. Our Town explores the relationship between two young Grover’s Corners neighbors, George Gibbs (played by Owen Stanton) and Emily Webb (Madison Hatfield), whose childhood friendship blossoms into romance, and then culminates in marriage. Narrating throughout, the Stage Manager (Benjamin Gullett) shows the audience the circle of life portrayed in each of the three acts: growing up, adulthood, and death. Our Town is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

Our Town also features the talents of: Stormi Bledsoe, Bob Brown, Bryan Kessinger, D.J. Griffith, John Hancock, Chelsea Heifner, Aidan Holmes, Mark Holmes, Emma Horick, Jenna Horick, Bronwyn Jones, B.G. Prater, Matthew Waits and Terry Washburn.

Our Town is directed by Rainee Angles and stage managed by Hannah Hengler, with production design by Rainee Angles and Abraham Martin, sound design by Benjamin Gullett, and costume design by Laura Martin. Fulfilling other crew positions are: Brent Angles, Emily Griffith, Melissa Griffith, Tina Kessinger, Jenna Milstead, Seth Potts, Emily Rumschlag and Heather Washburn.
