Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and 2008 Tony Award for Best Play

SSCC Theatre proudly presents Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County, playing in The Edward K. Daniels Auditorium at Southern State Community College, Hillsboro, Ohio, March 27 & 28 at 7:30 p.m. and on March 29 at 3:30 p.m.

A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you’ve got a major new play that unflinchingly—and uproariously—exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family.

August: Osage County features the acting talents of: Stormi Bledsoe, Bob Brown, Paula Campagna, Kendra Clisby, Coni Coleman, Benjamin Gullett, Hannah Hengler, Leslie Holmes, Mark Holmes, Bronwyn Jones, Bob Lambert, John Scott, and Eric Silcott.

“Our season often consists of a combination of a classic, a challenge, and an audience attraction. August: Osage County is our challenge … and not just for the artists. I believe the content of the play will also dare and defy our average patron,” said Director Rainee Angles.

The design team includes: Rainee Angles and Abraham Martin (production), Laura Martin (costumes) Benjamin Gullett (sound and public relations), and David Singer (original music). Jeff Horick is the fight choreographer. Melissa Griffith is the stage manager; Tina Kessinger is the assistant stage manager. Fulfilling other crew positions are: Brent Angles, Daniel Bragdon, Micaela Countryman, Heather Cumbo, Ethan Emery, Adomas Fabin, D.J. Griffith, Jessica Jacob, Matthew Mahoney, and Jonathan Stewart.
