The Southern State Community College theatre department is pleased to announce an upcoming production, Theatre ASAP. The performance is scheduled for Sat., April 21, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium located on the central campus in Hillsboro.
Whether it is a small cast one act, an epic musical, or a large cast period play, most things that take place in theatre require time and usually months. What if, however, it was possible to write, direct, produce, rehearse, memorize and perform a play in a 24 hour period? You would call that crazy. We call it Theatre ASAP.
Starting at 9 p.m. on Fri., April 20, and continuing through until show time the following evening, students and community members will attempt to write and perform their play within 24 hours. Writers for the group consist of Christina Cadwallader, Brandy Chandler, Will Klotz, and Amy Petzold.
At the completion of the show on Sat., April 21, the audience will vote on the best new play performed. Interested? Intrigued? Then plan to join us on April 21 for what promises to be a very exciting evening.
Tickets are $5, and are available at the door. For more information, please call Rainee Angles at 1-800-628-7722, ext. 2794.
