SSCC Theatre is excited to announce their upcoming auditions for The Curious Savage on Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m. in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium at the Central Campus of Southern State Community College.
In John Patrick’s classic comedy, Mrs. Savage has been left ten million dollars by her husband and wants to make the best use of it, in spite of the efforts of her grown-up stepchildren to get their hands on it. These latter, knowing that the widow’s wealth is now in negotiable securities, and seeing they cannot get hold of it, commit her to a “sanatorium” hoping to “bring her to her senses.” But Mrs. Savage is determined to establish a fund to help others realize their hopes and dreams.
The auditions for The Curious Savage are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to come and tryout. The auditions will begin promptly at 10 a.m. with a cold read of the script, no preparation of a monologue is necessary. Those unable to attend the audition, but still wishing to tryout, should call Rainee Angles at (937) 393-3431 ext. 2794 to set-up an alternate audition date.
The Curious Savage plays in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium May 30, 31 and June 1.
